Family, Food, and Summer Memories in Greece
Marrying my husband, Tony, brought a kind of joy into my life that I never could have imagined — not just in love, but in the opportunity to truly experience a part of the world that has become home to my heart. I was lucky in love to find the very best road trip partner — one who is up for absolutely anything… as long as I plan it.
Together, we’ve raised two boys who grew up spending their summers swimming in the sea, eating far too many ice creams a day, and learning that the best memories are made around a crowded table.
Being welcomed into Tony’s extended family in Southern Greece has been one of the greatest gifts of my life. His village, the friendships, and the traditions have shaped our summers for over twenty years. As I gathered the places we’ve visited (and eaten at — because we apparently love to eat a lot), I found myself overwhelmed with gratitude for the memories tied to each one.
None of it would have been possible without my incredible mother and father-in-law, whose dedication to maintaining roots in their home village created our beautiful home base in Greece. Their hard work gave our boys the gift of belonging to something bigger than themselves.
Dinners with my husband’s siblings and their children have created memories I will treasure forever. And truly — my husband has the best cousins in Greece. Cousin Gioula has been my travel partner and one of the most generous and loving people I know. I cannot wait for many more adventures with her and her beautiful family.
Our Koumbari, Kostas and Elena, welcomed me from the very beginning. Kostas remains my go-to for restaurant recommendations — and he never disappoints. And the meals my sons’ Nona has lovingly prepared at her dining table? Too many to count. You know someone loves you when they make you rice-stuffed zucchini flowers.
There are too many names to mention — but you know who you are. I can’t wait to see you around the dining table or under a beach umbrella soon.
Thank you for visiting this page. I hope you enjoy exploring the many places I’ve been lucky enough to experience over the past twenty years with my family.

And now that our boys are both in college, we’ll keep exploring Greece the way it was meant to be explored — with friends, family, long lunches, and as many swims as possible. Contact Exploring Greece.
